i know! i suck! i haven't posted in eons!!

anyway, i have dyed all my Bare yarn from KnitPicks. I have some pictures, but need to reskein it all and take photos of the rest. eventually pics will be up on the blog.

last week was my birthday. my big bday gift was my wheel that i bought last month. the kids at school were super sweet and brought me various cutesy gifts. tara bought me gorgeous jewelry and a gift card toward a future purchase on an updated ipod. this was wednesday.

thursday, however, sucked! when i got home from work, i accidentally dropped my cell in the toilet~ it fell out of my back pocket. no matter how quick i jumped to fish it out and dry it, the damn thing still wasn't going to work. so we were going to get a new one that night (that's what happens when you only use cell phones and don't have a land line!). we were taking a shower before we left and i used the very last of our body wash absentmindedly on my head in lieu of shampoo! and for some reason, randy saw what i was doing and didn't stop me until i had lathered it all up! okay, so we get to tmobile, i picked out a super cute new phone (white and purple~ squee!), no problems there. then, we went to wendy's where we were served by a bunch of hoochies. i was hungrily eating my 4 Alarm chicken sandwich when DH stopped me and opened my sandich. there in the middle was the paper that separates the cheese slices!! i had eaten nasty paper! if you have any idea how much wet paper and bandaids skeeve me out you'd know how bad this was for me. i took my sandwich, along with the chewed and spit out wad, up to the counter. they replaced it and were very willing to leave it at that. i asked for some sort of compensation and the girl just stared at me. uh, yeah, compensation, like give me something in return for this trauma i've suffered! she asked if i wanted more food to eat! no, damnit, my husband and i both have combo meals, i don't need anymore food, what i need is my money!!!!!

ugh, i swear!

oh, and last night, i made the mistake of drinking gin&tonic while working on the oh, so, infamous Pomatomus sock! i'd gotten to the foot of the sock, which is worked on a different chart. well, i was doing great, but stopped paying attention to the chart, just following in a logical sequential pattern. what i realized, oh, 6 rows later was that the pattern changed and i missed it. i was on such a role! now i screwed it all up. i am NOT pulling back those 6 rows, i just picked up on the row i was supposed to be on and said screw it. maybe no one will notice. i'm just so ready to be done with these socks!

i'm waiting on several orders to come in the mail. i ordered a few vials of oils from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs, some books from Amazon, circs from KP to work on the Seize Diamondbacks KAL. I'm also waiting for my Magic Yarn Ball, which I believe my partner is sending this week. I'm also testing out some smaller stitch markers for a fellow L&V MB'er. And, lets see, soon my yarn for the Dyeing to Dye Socks should be mailed out. i have to reskein mine before i send mine out, but at least its done.

anywhoooo, that's enough catching up. i hear coconut cake icecream calling for me!!

I'm soo excited~ I'm dancing round my living room!! Because I got lots of chocolate for Easter??? NOOOOOO~ Because my spinning is actually starting to look like R-E-A-L spinning! I'm sooo happy! SQUEEEEEE.... This is the BFL roving I got from Spunky Eclectic. It's coming along quite nicely!

And since we dyed eggs yesterday, it only makes sense that I dye YARN today! Here are photos from my second attempt at dyeing using Witlon's cake coloring. This was my second skein out of 3 that I ordered. The third is in an absolute horror of a rats nest that I don't think I can salvage. I tried to reskein it yesterday to make it larger, but somehow got it all knotted. Needless to say, I had to order more blanks!

Goodies, Goodies, everywhere

So many things! I love it! Yesterday I came home and got my dyed fiber from Miss Violet!! Holiday ~ after the Madonna song. Love it!


Today Anthony and I stopped by Hancock Fabric store to check out their "going out of business sale". I found a cute vintage sewing tin for my mom and some trim to use in my bathroom. But best of all, I found Knitting for Baby~ 40% off!!!! What a steal!


When we got home there was yet another package! WHOOOOhoooo! More fiber~ Delphinium from Spunky Eclectic. It's beautiful!


I tried out my hand at dyeing. It was my first attempt for the Newbie Sock Dyeing Swap on Swapbot. The colors turned out way brighter than I expected them to. I was aiming for something beachy and fun. Instead I ended up with something resembling a Grateful Dead Tshirt. Still, I didn't burn or felt it. And I managed to keep the kitchen clean. So it wasn't that bad!


I also got some cute photos of my favorite man :o)

I Got you Babe

Babe's Fiber Garden Wheel that is!!! I finally got it Friday night.

However, I was at my brother's house until late and too tired to pull it out of the box that night. Then Saturday we went fishing before the sun even came up. So, I didn't get to actually play with it until Saturday afternoon. And I SUCKED!!! That's alright, it takes time and practice.

unday we went fishing again and then i had a migraine, so no spinning yesterday either. Tonight I decided to face my fears again :o) I threw on a new bobbin and made a new attempt with much better results. I finally figured out that I had to help feed the yarn into the orfice~ it's not just going to suck the yarn out of my hands! Slowly but surely, I'll get the hang of this. I must say, I do like it better than the drop spindle.


I'm waiting on 2 rovings that I ordered: BFL from Spunky Eclectic and I just ordered a batt from Miss Violet on her Etsy shop (SQUEEEE!!!!!)

Happy April Fool's Day

not that there have been any jokes today.

i finally finished my first pomatomus sock (that's been a joke! i guess that could count). i have photos, but they're on my camera and i have a headache, so it will have to wait utnil maybe tomorrow.

i got my spinning wheel, and i have NO CLUE what i'm doing!! i tried it yesterday and ended up with an ugly mess. i'll get there though. my spindle spinning started off that way too.

we went fishing with my FIL and nephew yesterday. i pretty much sat on my ass. since randy was catching fish so sparadically, i knew i wouldn't do too well. so when i finally decided to actually fish, i pulled out the biggest mackeral of the day~ 19.5" and then another right after it!!! it was worth being lazy.

today we went to honeymoon island to fish some more. it was windy and wavy, so i was a bit leary, but it turned out great. between the two of us, we probably caught 80 someodd fish!!! it was bite after bite, cast after cast.

but, now i have a headache and shouldn't be on the computer, so i'm going to watch amazing race.

btw~ 17 days until my birthday! one last year to celebrate my 20's
